This study aims to determine the diversity and abundance of periphyton in
the Deli river waters and to determine the level of pollution in the river Deli in
terms of diversity of periphyton and physical-chemical factors waters. Physicochemical
parameters and biological observed that temperature, current, brightness,
pH, TDS, TSS, DO, BOD5, nitrates, phosphates, fe, diversity and abundance of
periphyton. Sampling was performed three times in five observation
stations that each station is divided into three (before, during and after the sewer
line).
Based on the results obtained periphyton diversity (H ') ranged from 0.803
to 1.099 ind/cm2, abundance ranged between 257.280-
1.185.280 ind/cm2. Temperatures ranged from 27-30oC, current ranges 0,68-0,89
m/s, brightness ranges 20,50-23,50 cm, TDS ranges 96,50-142,03 mg/l,
TSS ranges 5,33-11,33 mg/l, pH ranges 7,60-8,10 mg/l, DO ranges 0,90-1,90
mg/l, BOD5 ranges 8,99-22,50 mg/l, nitrate ranges from 1,69-3,48
mg/l, Phosphate ranged 0,11-0,35 mg/l and Fe 0,20-3,78 mg/l. When viewed from
the Diversity Index (H ') and physical-chemical factors Deli classified
as polluted river waters moderate to heavily polluted.
