dc.description.abstract | One of the natural recreation place in urban areas is the urban forest park. The
production of waste every day is increasing along with the increasing number of visitors
in the urban forest park. What must be done to overcome the increase in the volume of
waste is by: reducing the volume of waste at the source through community participation.
The problem in community participation regarding waste management is how the form of
community participation in waste management is and how to plan waste facilities based
on community participation. Research on the community participation-based waste
management planning model in Langsa City Forest Park aims to: (1) analyze community
participation in waste generation management in Langsa City Forest Park (2) plan waste
facilities based on community participation in waste generation management in Langsa
City Forest Park. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation and
documentation, while data analysis uses descriptive qualitative techniques. Based on the
results of the study, the form of community participation in efforts to improve the
environment is by providing energy donations in the form of providing containers,
providing compost houses, providing janitors, collecting garbage, sorting waste by type,
disposing of garbage in the containers provided, and cleaning the canteen environment.
The level of community participation that occurred in Langsa City Forest Park according
to the medium category, the community took part in participation but the implementation
was still not optimal. | en_US |
