ZULVI ARWAN FAKIH: Effect of Density of Air LineandHeight of Used Cooking
Oil on Burning Quality of Oil Palm Soil Waste Biobriquettes, supervisedby
SAIPUL BAHRI DAULAY andSUMONO.
Palm oil millsolid wasteresultingfromCPOproductionprocessis
channeledinto pondwaste(Cooling PondI).It isusuallythrowntothe groundso that it
cancontaminate the environment. This study was aimtoutilize theoil
palmwasteasbriquettes. Briquettesis one of thealternative to replaceoil. Research
wasdone bycompletely randomizedfactorialdesign with2factors i.e :density of air
line(0,4, 0,8, and 1,2cm) andHeight of used cooking oil (2, 2,5, and 3 cm).
Parametersobserved were heating time, oilvolume, andsootness.
The results showedthat the density of air linehada highly significant
effectonthe heating time, volume of oilandhad noeffectonthe sootnes. Height of
used cooking oil had a significant effectonsootness andhad no effectonthe heating
time and volumeof oil.
The best treatment combination was L1T2 (0,4centimetersdensity of air
line and 2,5 centimetersHeight of used cooking oil) with equipment heatimg time
of 43,90 minute and 1,79 gr sootness.
