dc.description.abstract | Coastal waters is the final shelter all kinds of waste generated by human
activity: agriculture, household waste, trash, waste disposal fish landings. If the load
is received by the water has exceeded the carrying capacity, the water quality is
going down, the waters have been polluted physical, chemical, microbiological and
affect the beauty and comfort of visitors in the tour activities. Research has been
carried out in Sri Mersing Beach, District Coast Mirror, Serdang Bedagai in August-
November 2014 by analyzing the water quality of the River Sei Baungan and Sri
Mersing Beach and compare it with the water quality standard based Kep-
51/MENLH/2004 for marine tourism, assess the quality of the coastal environment,
the potential for the development of coastal tourism, and to know the perception of
tourists to the beauty and comfort of the region. The results showed that there were
several water quality parameters that are not in accordance with the water quality
standards based Kep-51/MENLH/2004 for tourism activities is rubbish, turbidity and
Colifaecal, assessment of environmental quality of coastal area of research is a
category extremely suited for coastal tourism and potentially to be used as a tourist
area, assessment of coastal tourism development has the potential to be developed as
an object and tourist attraction and perception of beauty and comfort of visitors
