Body disorder in which pancreas still produces insulin instead of sufficiently to controls the glucose in muscles, fat and liver that causes the long-time accumulation of glucose which eventually brings about Diabetes Mellitus Type II. The incidence of depression is one of the effects caused by Diabetes Mellitus Type II. In order to control this depression, it needs a coping mechanism as a cognitive attempt and the patients' behavior to manage or organize (reduce, minimize, or tolerate) their internal and external needs. The aim of this research was to find out the corelation between the coping mechanism of Diabetes Mellitus Type II patients and the effect of insulin injection. The research used cross sectional design. It was conducted in July,2016. The samples were 93 respondents, taken by using total sampling technique. The result of the research showed that 86 respondents (92.5%) used adaptive coping mechanism, 82 respondents (88.2 %) used adaptive and problem coping mechanism, 87 respondents (93.5%) used adaptive coping mechanism which was focused on problem, and 92 respondents (98.9%) had the effect of insulin injection. The result of Chi Square test revealed that the "count value" of coping mechanism was p = 0.77, meanwhile, the calculation result (p=0.77, α≤0.05) which indicated that there was no significant correlation of coping mechanism of Diabetes Mellitus Type II patients with the effect of insulin injection and with coping mechanism which was focused on emotion and problem. Based on the result of the analysis done by the researcher on patients' condition and health service showed that good health services at hospital and health insurance, and a balanced spiritual condition were the crucial factors for Diabetes Mellitus Type II patients (averagely five-year treatment) with injection therapy gained their self-confidence toward their suffering chronic and incurable diseases.en_US
