Evaluasi Koleksi Berdasarkan Standar Nasional Perpustakaan (SNP) Nomor 13 Tahun 2017 Di Perpustakaan Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the library collections of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara in fulfilling the Library National Standard (SNP) Number 13 of 2017. Library collections are the attraction for library visitors because a library is a source of information needed by visitors. Therefore, paying attention to the library collections in terms of either quantity or quality is of a vital importance. This paper uses the methods of observation, interview, library research, and documentation. The result reveals 5 (five) out of 9 (nine) indicators have fulfilled the Library National Standards Number 13 of 2017. However, there are some subindicators that have not fulfilled the standards, namely the second indicator in the sections of scientific articles and scientific magazines. Meanwhile, 4 (four) out of 9 (nine) indicators which have not fulfilled the Library National Standards Number 13 of 2017, namely the third indicator; collections development, the fifth indicator; reference collections, the seventh indicators; stock opname, and the eighth indicator; weeding.
