This study aimed to evaluate the actual and potential land suitability class of forestry plants and Multi-Purpose Tree Species (MPTS) in Humbang Hasundutan Regency and to assess the distribution of the actual land suitability class and potential of forestry plants and MPTS in several subdistricts of Humbang Hasundutan Regency. Soil sampling was carried out using the purposive sampling technique, and determining limiting factors affecting land suitability classes and sub-classes were compared. The result of the land suitability evaluation study showed that the distribution of land suitability class was highly suitable (S1) was not found in all land units, while the moderately suitable (S2), marginally suitable (S3), and not suitable (N) were found in all three land units. The land suitability level in particular use was more optimal and specific than land use before the improvement efforts were referred to as land suitability. These plants included: Parkia speciosa, Pinus merkusii, Eucalyptus sp., Durio zibethinus, Persea Americana, Uncaria gambir Roxb., Hevea brasiliensis, Coffea arabica, Coffea canephora, Styrax sp.
