Sugar palm (Arenga longipes Mogea, sp. nov.) is one of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) cultivates by forest community in the village of Sei Limbat, Sub-district of selesai, Regency of Langkat. Sugar palm is also a plant that produces much utilization for economic development and is a livehood for forest communities. The purpose of this research is to ensure species of sugar palm by morphology identify species developed by the community, potential utilization, and economic value and tapping productivity of sugar palm tree; The morphological identification was used to ensure the species of sugar palm developed by community. The multiple utilizations and economic value were identified and analyzed based on the result of in-depth interview through questionnaires. The productivity of sugar palm sap was based on the morphological identificaction, the species of sugarpalm cultivated by community forest is Arenga longipes Mogea, sp. nov. The tapping productivity was calculated based on daily production which is correlated with sugar palm tree morphology. Based on the result, it could be concluded that the tapping productivity was influenced by plant morphology is panicle circle, tree height and flower height
