The Description of Tengku Amir Hamzah's Patriotism in Langkat Society

Abstract

The research focuses on Tengku Amir Hamzah's patriotism in Langkat society when he fought for Indonesian independence and Langkat Sultanate. The objective of the study is to describe Tengku Amir Hamzah's patriotism in Langkat society and to describe the effect of Tengku Amir Hamzah as patriot in Langkat society. The theory used in this paper is qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The result of this study shows that Tengku Amir Hamzah is able to be a representation of various kinds of patriotic attitudes and his behaviour can be used as an example for everyday life. Such as : Passion in education persistent in participating in youth organizations in the context of the struggle for independence, initiating various kinds of Indonesian identity, the form of his dedication to the land of Langkat, as well as the socio-cultural aspects that he strives for
