A Description of Moral Values in Tatiana Manaois’ Selected Songs Lyrics

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the moral value and what the dominant of that moral value in Tatiana Manaois‟ six selected songs lyric. The method of this study used qualitative descriptive method. The data source of this research from the lyric of six selected song by Tatiana Manaois. The technique used of this research by performing a few steps such as (1) reading and understand the lyrics,(2)listening to the songs,(3)selecting word and sentence which have moral value, and (4)interpreting and describing types of moral value before making conclusion. Moral value are relating to principles of right and wrong and the standards of behavior, moral value can be found in form of literary works included song lyric. The description showed that six selected songs of Tatiana Manois contained moral value such as enthusiasm, self-confidence, bravery, self-love, perseverance, eudemonism, strong belief and selfish. Through the lyric of the song, reader are expected to be able to take lessons from the each moral conveyed
