This thesis has the title "Analysis of Chinese Questions in the Film The Wandering
Earth". This study aims to determine the structure of the sentence and to find the
function in the Chinese interrogative sentences contained in the film The
Wandering Earth. This research uses syntactic theory. This study uses a
qualitative descriptive method. The data taken is in the form of dialogues in which
there are interrogative sentences in Mandarin in the film The Wandering Earth.
The results obtained from this study are the discovery of several structures and
functions of interrogative sentences in Mandarin, namely different structures
depending on the type of interrogative sentence. Generally, Chinese interrogative
sentences use a structure in the form of question words at the beginning, middle,
and end of sentences and use interrogative particles at the end of interrogative
sentences. However, there are also interrogative sentences that do not add
question words or particles in the sentence, but only ask questions by putting a
question mark (?) at the end of the sentence. Chinese interrogative sentences also
have different functions depending on the type. There are interrogative sentences
that function to get answers in the form of yes/no, approval/rejection, in the form
of choices, do not require answers or only reinforce questions and have the same
function as 5W+1H question
