Abstract

FAUZI WARDHANA LUBIS: The Analysis of Increase Problematic of Sugar Production at The Sugar Factory of Sei Semayang PTPN I Medan, supervised by ACHWIL PUTRA MUNIR and AINUN ROHANAH. The competition for the sector of the primary industry based on sugar was pointed in the increasingly tight challenge. With the strictness of competition of free market at this time, effort was needed to be increased on quality (nira- content) and yield of sugar. This research was aimed at identify the problematic or problems that cause of the deviation during sugar production at factory as well as to transform the problem or production factors that having an affect on quality and production of sugar into model of control chart and cause-effect diagram. Results of the research showed that the quality and the yield of sugar during period I and II of February-September of 2005 to 2008 were inconsistent. This matter was caused by the influence of raw material, processing procedure and machinery condition during sugar processing at the factory.
