HOLONG MUNTE : The Study of Erosion Hazard Level (TBE) on Cassava Cultivation at USU Kwala Bekala Research Field, supervised by EDI SUSANTO and TAUFIK RIZALDI. Planting cassava continuously on sloping land without applying soil conservation system, will cause damage to soil structure and increase the erosion rate in USU Kwala Bekala research field. Therefore, research was conducted at the cassava crop in May-July 2010 using two small squares and with USLE method. The parameters were the kind of soil, soil structure, land slope, soil permeability, soil C-organic content, the effective depth of soil, rainfall, escaping water volume and sedimentation weight in colektor drum. The results showed that planting cassava at sloping land without applying soil conservation system extremely affected the amount of erosion. The average of erosion that occured according to USLE method was 762,43 ton/(ha.year),while with the first small square was 31,78 ton/(ha.year) and according to the second small square was 26,65 ton/(ha.year) which much smaller than the USLE method.
