Kajian Pemanfaatan Kemenyan (Styrax sumatrana) untuk Pembuatan Aromaterapi Elektrik

Abstract

JOAPRI SAPUTRA SARAGIH: Utilization Study of Frankincense (Styrax sumatrana) for Producing Electric Aromatherapy. Supervised by YUNUS AFIFUDDIN and RIDWANTI BATUBARA Used as aromatherapy frankincense had a benefits for human life.Therefore, study on electric aromatherapy based frankincense plus vetiver and jasmine aroma and without reducing the efficacy of frankincense. The purpose of this research was to Identify the characteristics of frankincense (S. sumatrana), making the combination of the best raw material formulation and analyze the level of consumer preference towards burning aromatherapy through electrically test and organoleptic tests. Result showed, by using of toba’s frankincense (S. sumatrana) with quality 1 or quality trading is often called the market with quality frankincense eyes that had a sharp flavor and soft vanilla scent. The results obtained 5 best combination of raw material formulations with category A, B, C, D and E. The most preferred combination is based on the level of fragrance by the respondent through organolaptik test with the largest average value is the product E with a combination of a mixture of all three raw materials with the percentage of 40%: 30%: 30% by weight of 0.2 g: 0.15 g: 0, 15g.
