Abstract

AKHIRULHIJRY: MonitoringandEvaluationStrategyandAction Plan2008-2014for theIndonesianOrangutanConservationSumatran Orangutan(Pongo abelii), guidedby: PindiPatanaandRahmawaty. InlegislationIndonesia, orangutansare included in theprotected speciesstatus. It is knownthat thenumberof wild populationshave declinedsteadily inrecent decades due tothe loss oflowland forest, but inrecent yearsthe pace of declinein orangutan populationscontinue to increase. In response,then draftedadocumentthatcanserve as a guideinthe Sumatran orangutanrescueas wellas areference forthose workingfor theconservationof orangutans. DeterminationConservationStrategy and Action Plan(SRAK) OrangutanIndonesia2007-2017usefulasunitaryframeworkthat combinesthe handling ofpriorityconservation, integrated, andinvolveall partiesandstakeholders. After morethanhalf ofthe current year, a strategyand action planthathas beenplannedandimplementednot sopositive effect onorangutanconservationefforts. Therefore,strategiesand action plansneed to bemonitoredandevaluatedtoseethe extent to whichthe implementation of theimplementationand the level ofsuccessofsuch programsas containedindocumentConservationStrategy and Action Plan(SRAK) OrangutanIndonesia2007-2017
