Nurul PUSPITA IRAWAN. Erosion Hazard Mapping of Level Deli watershed.
Guided by Rahmawaty and Joko Widiyanto.
Watershed is an area of land that receives, holds and store rainwater to
then distribute to the sea or lake through the main river. Thus a watershed will be
separated from other watersheds in the region surrounding by natural boundaries
(topography) in the form of a ridge or a mountain. Watershed Deli is one of the
critical watershed in North Sumatra which require priority treatment as a
rehabilitation target location. Deli watershed is continuously degraded condition
from year to year and a watershed priorities I. Deli watershed covers three
administrative regions Karo, Deli Serdang and Medan with watershed area
47298.01 ha. This study aims to analyze the amount of erosion and sedimentation
in the watershed Deli and Erosion Hazard Mapping Level (TBE) in Deli
watershed. Erosion method used is USLE erosion is a model designed to predict
the erosion of the long-term average of sheet or gully erosion under certain
circumstances. Sediment method used is the method of Chow (1964). Processing
data using ArcView GIS 3.3. Research shows that TBE is happening in the
watershed Deli is Very High is 41954.12 hectares or by 72.15% of the total Deli
watershed. While Hovering Sediment concentration (Cs incoming sediments at
6862.75 per day (tons / day) or at 28784.63 (tons / year). Steps taken to reduce
the rate of erosion is by planting trees (crop land cover), Rehabilitation,
Conservation soil and Water and manage land use in accordance with fungisnya
that land cover tightly so as to minimize the rate of erosion in the Deli watershed.
