SIPAYUNG: Effect of Revolutions per Minute and Drying Time on the Quality and Work Capacity of Candlenut Sheller, supervised by SAIPUL BAHRI DAULAY and AINUN ROHANAH. Until now the effect of Revolutions per Minute and drying time on the quality and work capacity of candlenut sheller have not been plenty researched. Therefore, a research had been conducted at Workshop of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Approperate Technology and Agricultural Engineering Laboratory, Faculty Agriculture USU in May-July 2010 using factorial randomized block design with two factors, i.e. Revolutions per Minute (650, 750, and 850 rpm) and drying time (10, 12, and 14 hours). Parameters measured were work capacity tools, intact kernel presentage, two part of kernel presentage, crashed kernel presentage, stick kernel presentage, and moisture content. The results showed that Revolutions per Minute had significantly affected on all parameters except work capacity, so did be drying time. The interaction of the two factors had significantly affected on all parameters except the work capacity tools and moisture content. The best result was found in the combination of 750 rpm and dried at 12 hours. | en_US |
