SANTY DARMA NATALIA PURBA. Spesies Abundance and Estimated
Productivity of Ficus spp. as Natural Food Sources Sumatran Orangutan (Pongo
abelii) in Sumatra Orangutan Observation Center, Gunung Leuser National Park.
Under Academic Supervision of PINDI PATANA and ERNI JUMILAWATY.
Ficus spp. a source of feed trees are keystone species for primates and birds.
Availability feed Ficus spp., this needs to be evaluated. Therefore, the evaluation
of the carrying capacity of the habitat quantitatively through the abundance of
Ficus spp. and estimates of productivity growth of young leaves, fruits, and
flowers Ficus spp. The methodology used in this research is the analysis of
vegetation and methods Zweifel. The result showed an abundance of Ficus spp.
the highest level found in poles form on trail 2 (2,106). Abundance of Ficus spp.
relatively rare. Estimated productivity of young leaves were moderate. Estimated
productivity tends to moderate interest. Estimated productivity of the fruit ranges
from 1-100 pieces per month. Other species in ecological niches areblack
squirrelsand rangkong birds.
