dc.description.abstractSkin disease is one disease that is still a public health problem in Indonesia. Dermatitis is inflammation of the skin (epidermis and dermis) as a response to the influence of exogenous factors and endogenous factors and complaints or itchy places like dormitories populous and humid places and lack of sunshine a major factor in the spread of skin diseases. One of the places that are at high risk of developing this disease is a boarding school. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics factors, the physical environment of the room, personal hygiene (frequency of bathing, clothing, towels and bedding), and water quality that affect the incidence of dermatitis in children boarding school students in Al Mulchlishin Tanjung Morawa. This type of observational analytic study with cross-sectional research design to analyze the influence of the factors influencing the incidence of dermatitis in children hoarding students Al Mukhlishin Tanjung Morawa. Implemented April to August 2014 population in this study were all students at the school of Al Mukhlishin who live in the shelter boarding totaling 124 people. Data Analysis with Chi Square and logistic regression. The results showed no effect of the length of stay (p = 0. 026), cleaning towels (p = 0.026) and the cleanliness of the bed (p = 0.001) on the incidence of dermatitis in children boarding school students. The most effect on the incidence of disease dermatitis is the cleanliness of the bed with the exponent {B) 5. 031 means that the cleanliness of the bed of the respondents have less chance of suffering from dermatitis 5. 031 times greater than the cleanliness of the respondents who clean his bed. Expected for boarding Al Mukhlishin Tanjung Morawa can improve the pattern of personal hygiene of the students by providing counseling on a clean and healthy lifestyle. Expected the students to be able to keep his own personal hygiene such as bathing twice a day, not an exchange of towels, no exchange of clothes, changing, washing bedding once a week and to avoid moisture drying mattress.en_US
