Although hypertropic concha does not threaten our life, it disturbs quality of life and becomes financial burden of the suferrer. Hypertropic concha is often found in patients with allergic rhinitis and non allergic rhinitis. The pathogenesis of hypertropic concha occurs as a result of structural changes in the air..vay tissue called airway remodeling due to chronic inflammation. Until this time the research on changes in vascular structure is very little, especially in the endothelium , as well as evaluating the correlation of angiogenesis and changes in the structure of the nasal air\vay tissues. How does the mechanism of the process of angiogenesis in allergic rhinitis has not been clear until now. The purpose of this study was to prove the relationship with the H 1 and VEGF receptors expression on hypertropic concha caused by allergic rhinitis and non allergic rhinitis, then H1 receptor and VEGF receptor as risk factors for consideration in the management of allergic rhinitis. This study was an observational, assess correlation H1 receptor and VEGF receptor expression in patients caused by allergic rhinitis and non allergic rhinitis by immunchistochemistry examination. The design cf this case-control study , which compared to the H1 receptor and VEGF receptor in hypertropic ccncha caused by allergic rhinitis with non allergic rhinitis. The independent variable in this study is the H1 receptor and VEGF receptor expression, while the dependent variable is hypertropic concha caused by allergic rhinitis and non allergic rhinitis . In this study, patients with hypertropic concha as many as 58 patients consisting of hypertropic concha caused by as many as 29 patients allergic rhinitis and non allergic rhinitis is caused by as many as 29 patients. The result of data analysis of this study showed that histamine plays a role as a risk factor for hypertropic concha caused allergic rhinitis in which there is a significant difference between H1 receptor positive with H1 receptor negative , with a p value: <0.0001 ( p < 0.05 ), OR: 30 and 95 % Cl:5,833-154,29. Based on this study found signifficantly VEGF receptor between in hypertrophic concha caused by allergic rhinitis and in hypertrophic concha caused by non allergic rhinitis which p value:0,022. Receptor VEGF is not risk factor for the occurrence of hypertropic concha caused by allergic rhinitis, which OR: 0.11 and 95 % Cl:0,013-0,982, so that receptor VEGF is protectif factor. In this study found that correlation between histamine 1 receptor and VEGF receptor 1 in the hypertropic concha caused by allergic rhinitis is possitive but weakness, which Sppearman's rho statistic test found correlation coeficient:0,278 and p value:0, 144en_US
