This study will discuss how Korean pop culture can develop and spread rapidly in Indonesia and its influence on Indonesian local culture. Where globalization is a door for intercultural interaction. The presence of foreign cultures causes various social changes in local culture, for example: the waning of the original culture of an area, the erosion of cultural values, a decrease in the sense of nationalism, a lifestyle that is not in accordance with our customs. This study aims to see the response of USU's FISIP students in view of the existence of local culture with the inclusion of Korean Pop culture in Indonesia. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods that are supported by primary data sources, namely interviews and accompanied by documentation of their activities around the K-Pop culture that they enjoy. The results of the study indicate that there are socio-cultural changes brought about by K-Pop culture that affect student tastes, from music, fashion, culinary genres, to excessive love for foreign cultures such as K-Pop culture. These changes make students tend to be more picky and easily bored, resulting in a variety of cultural consumption habits. They define K-pop culture as a trend reference and consumption of foreign cultural entertainment that they like. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it was also found that the existence of local culture of the Indonesian nation is still irreplaceable by the popular culture of immigrants such as Korean pop culture among students, because for them local culture is a cultural identity and cultural heritage of the nation that cannot be separated from life. they
