Hubungan Dukungan Keluarga dengan Kepatuhan Minum Obat Penderita Tuberculosis Paru di Puskesmas Pandan Tapanuli Tengah

Abstract

Tuberculosis is one of the causes of death in the world so it requires a proper strategy to take anti-tuberculosis drugs. Continuous long-term medication is not an easy thing for patients with tuberculosis and requires the patient's awareness of regular daily medication. Family as the closest person must provide support and spirit to patients. Good family support can affect patients to be more obedient to treatment and to take medication. This study is aimed at finding out the relationship between family support and adherence to medication for tuberculosis patients at Pandan Health Center and using the total sampling technique with a sample of 56 people.. The instrument used were family support questionnaire and medication adherence questionnaire. Data analyzed using chi-square tests. The research showed that the family support was good and obedient in taking medication as many as 50 patients(89%) . There is a relationship between family support and drug addiction (p=0,001)< α (0,05). Nurses can provide health education to patients and their families to always take medication regularly to prevent stopped at medication and treatment failure..
