dc.description.abstract | Ulumahuam village of Ujung Padang District of Silangkitang
is a village that has oil palm plantations owned by the people . It is known that the
total land area of the palm of the people in the village of 222.50 ha. In 2012
production increased to 308,294.4425 tons, but in the following year the numbers
dropped to 251,684.435 tonnes in 2013 and 245,528.75 tons in 2014. Under these
conditions , the authors analyze the strengths , weaknesses , opportunities and
threats for the determine the development strategy.
The purpose of this study was to determine the Strengths , weaknesses,
opportunities , and threats that exist in the oil palm farming village of Ujung
Padang Ulumahuam A Silangkitang District of South Labuhan Batu regency of
North Sumatra as well as to be able to determine a strategy to increase the
production of palm oil in the village.
The method used in this study used a qualitative approach to determine the
strengths, weaknesses , opportunities, and threats that exist in the oil palm
farming village of Ujung Padang Ulumahuam A Silangkitang District of South
Labuhan Batu district of North Sumatra . Data collection techniques used in this
study were interviews , observation , and documentation . The data analysis
technique used is SWOT analysis .
The results showed palm farm in the village of Ujung Padang Ulumahuam
A subdistrict Silangkitang located on the Cartesian diagram I or be on an
aggressive strategy . Aggressive strategy is a strategy that uses all the strength to
take advantage of opportunities that exist .. Alternative strategies can be used: ( 1
) Build a good relationship with the customers in order to gain full trust , ( 2 ) for
other benefits apart from selling palm fruit is to make brooms stick of palm leaf
midrib , ( 3 ) Doing good land management that yields satisfactory and can assist
government programs so that the emergence of a reciprocal relationship between
