This research has the title "Make-Up Habitus Among USU FISIP Students". In this study, the author wants to focus on looking at the habits of USU FISIP students in using and displaying make-up styles in everyday life. Make-up, which has been known for a long time, is now increasingly being used by Indonesian women, including students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at the University of North Sumatra. The use of make-up has its own narrative and meaning that can form a habitus for FISIP students at the University of North Sumatra. The purpose of this study was to find out how the habitus of USU FISIP students in using make-up. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. This study uses data collection techniques in accordance with the methodology the researchers did, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. This research was conducted by interviewing 10 USU FISIP students. The theory used in this research is the theory of social practice, with more emphasis on habitus, proposed by Pierre Bourdieu. The results of the study explain that USU FISIP students have make-up habits with different styles in three arenas, namely natural make-up habits in the campus environment and places of worship such as churches, bold make-up habits in public spaces such as malls or shopping centers, and habitus make-up glamor at certain places and events that contain elements of luxury such as party events. The make-up habit of USU FISIP students does not only appear by themselves, but there is an impulse that makes them follow this lifestyle, namely encouragement from within themselves, friends, family, and also social media. The habitus occurs because of a series of things that follow, namely the long lasting schemes of perception, thought, and action. The study also found that USU FISIP students have a habit of shopping for make-up equipment at online stores, because the shopping process will be more practical, have more offers and choices of make-up products, and lower prices.en_US
