dc.description.abstractProduction in Binjai Langkat city mostly tempe production. Tempe production mostly by home industry. Tempe is a food made from soy beans or some other material that is processed through fermentation which is generally known as "yeast tempe". Through this fermentation process, soy beans undergo a process of decomposition into simpler compounds that are easy to digest. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of capital, raw materials, labor and tempe production , and determine the development strategy of tempe production in Binjai Langkat city. The method used is associative research with quantitative approach. Sampling technique using saturated sample (census). Analysis of the data used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis and SWOT analysis. The results of this study indicate that capital and significant negative effect on tempe production, raw materials and significant positive effect on the production of tempe, Labor positive but not significant effect on tempe production. Capital, raw materials and labor and a significant positive effect on the production of tempe simultaneously, and in the statistical analysis known that the greater the capital is used, the production has declined. This is a weakness of the industry tempe residing in the District of Binjai Langkat city. It is therefore appropriate business development strategy to be applied on tempe production in the District Binjai Langkat based on SWOT analysis is a strategy WO. WO strategy is a strategy to minimize the weaknesses and take advantage of existing opportunities.en_US
