dc.description.abstractNew college students are part of the individual at the stage of adolescent development according to the stage of development, this period is a transition period between adolescence and young adulthood and also the transition from secondary education to higher education as well. College adjustment is the adjustment of students to the demands of the college environment. Students need to believe in their abilities and this is called self-efficacy. Students will be easier to adapt to a new environment if they have confidence in their abilities first so that the adjustment process will be more adaptive and will increase their academic success in lectures. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between college adjustment and self-efficacy in students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of North Sumatera batch 2021. The measurement of the self-efficacy scale was based on the theory of Albert Bandura (1997) and the college adjustment scale was based on the theory of Baker and Siryk (1986). The research sample were 228 students. The data will be processed using the Pearson Product Moment statistical correlation test. The results showed that there was a relationship between college adjustment and self-efficacy in first year students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of North Sumatera batch 2021, with a r-value = 0.541 and p value = 0.000.en_US
