dc.description.abstractThe ability of the human resources within an organization was a central factor that can determine the success or failure of an organization in achieving its goals. For companies that require a strong foundation in the form of HR competencies in achieving this success. PTPN IV (Persero) in an effort to improve operational performance, has taken a strategic step through the application CBHRM (Competency Based Human Resources Management). As for the problem of this research is often gets employees who are not competent in their field, so it can not master the field of work and hinder its performance. In addition, training is believed to increase competence in fact not given equally to all employees. This study aims to determine how much influence the HR Competency (X) of the Employee Performance (Y) At Head Office PTPN IV (Persero) Medan. The theories used are the theories of Human Resource Management, which is related to the competence and performance. This research is assosiative quantitative. Analytical methods used include normality analysis, simple linear regression analysis, the hypothesis (T-Test) and test analysis of the coefficient of determination (R Square) is assisted by SPSS software version 18.0 for windows. The population in this study were 398 people in the study sample as many as 80 people. Sampling technique using proportional random sampling technique to find sample per division. Then after a number of samples partially obtained, samples were taken by simple random sampling technique. The results based on hypothesis test results (T-Test) obtained tcount 8.566 and the coefficient of determination (R2) of 48.5 % and is based on a simple linear regression analysis and T-test showed that the variables HR competencies positive effect (0.819) and significant (0.000) on employee performance Head Office of PTPN IV (Persero). So, if the variable is increased by 1 HR competencies times the employee's performance variables will increase by 0.819. Thus the increase in HR competencies can improve employee performance Head Office of PTPN IV (Persero) Medan.en_US
