This research aims to determine the company's marketing strategy which
is implemented and determine the condition of the company through a SWOT
analysis to find alternative strategies that can be used as references in raising the
company's business conditions that expected. SWOT analysis consist of the
internal environment analysis that is, strength (strength) and weakness (weakness)
and external environment analysis that is opportunities (opportunity) and threats
(threat). The research was conducted in Tauko Medan distro that began in June
2013.
Format of the research is descriptive research method with qualitative data
analysis. Descriptive methods focus on the problems or phenomena that exist
when the research was conducted or actual, then describe the facts about the
problems that explored and continued by rational accurately. This research use
SWOT analysis approachment. That is a marketing tool to classify positions and
determine the company's marketing strategy .
The results showed that Tauko Medan still leads the market by focus on
product and promotional strategies in order to stay ahead among emerging
competitors. SWOT analysis shows the position of Tauko Medan is in quadrant I.
it means that Tauko Medan has great environmental opportunities and internal
strengths of the company, so the appropriate strategy to do is an aggressive
strategy or expansion strategy to maximize the company's internal and external
forces.
