dc.description.abstractPRATIWI: Gender Analysis of Pine Tappers in Sidomulyo Hamlet, Jambewangi Village, RPH Gunungsari, BKPH Glenmore, KPH Banyuwangi Barat, Perum Perhutani Unit II East Java, supervised by AGUS PURWOKO and JUNJUNGAN. One of the efforts made in the implementation of community based forest management is to empower communities around the forest to do pine tapping, including in Sidomulyo Hamlet, Jambewangi Village that directly bordered to the forest. The community can be involved directly in forest management as a form of participation and they also can make decisions, either in pine tapping activities or outside pine tapping activities. However, the community involved not only men, in the era of emancipation, women can also be involved in making decisions in order to achieve gender equality. The purpose of this study was to determine the roles of women and men in pine tapping and in making decisions associated with the pine tapping, as well as to determine the contribution of pine tapping on household income. The object of this study is pine tapper family in Sidomulyo Hamlet. The data was collected by literature study and interview. The used method in sampling was purposive sampling method by notice the land width of each respondents. Samples were taken 30 households consisting of husband and wife, so the total number of respondents consisted of 60 respondents. From the aspect of working time, the role of men is greater than women in pine tapping activities, the working time of men at 39,61 hours/week and women at 9,07 hours/week. Decision-making in the family and productive activities conducted by men, issues concerning the domestic interests or reproductive dominated by women, while the financial conducted together. Respondents’ income contribution from pine tapping amounted to 73.23% from total household income.en_US
