Rahmat Saputra : Existence and Status of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi on Lowland and Highland Cocoa Field. The goal of this research is to know the existence and the status of Arbuskular Mycorrhiza at Cocoa ecosystems in lowland and highland. Soil sample has been taken from Adian Nangka Village, District of Lae Parira, Region of Dairi and Lubuk Pakam - Perbaungan, Region of Serdang Bedagai. This research use soil separating method to obtain spores and root coloring method to find out root colonization. The trapping result with host of Zea mays obtained an average spore density on the lowland is 39,6 (40) spores / 50 g soil, while the highland obtained 458,2 (459) spores / 50 g soil. The result shows on the lowland obtained 6 spores types of Glomus genus and 1 spores type of Acaulospora genus with up to 37,19% colonization percentage. Highland obtained 18 spores types of Glomus genus and 1 spores type of Acaulospora genus with up to 70,04% colonization percentage.en_US
