ULINAR AMANTHA Pasaribu. Inventory of terrestrial orchids in the Eastern
Region Forest Education Forest Park Bukit Barisan Tongkoh Karo district of

This study aims to invent the species of orchids found in the eastern part of
the Forest Education TAHURA Barisan Tongkoh Karo. Determination of the
location of the observations were made by using purposive sampling method.
Vegetation inventory plots used random sampling method, with education 40
plots measuring 5x5 m, sampling intensity of 0.001 % of the forest area and the
distance between plots adjusted according to the presence of orchids. Orchids
were found in the plots are labeled A1, A2 and so on and documented, further the
sample were identified using identification books orchids. Important value index
is calculated from the sum of the relative density and relative frequency. The data
collected in this study are: The types of orchids, elevation, position, soil pH,
temperature and humidity. Then the identification and analysis of vegetation
types.
The results of this study indicate that orchids were found in the Bukit
Barisan Forest Education Tahura Tongkoh Karo 13 species of terrestrial orchid
genus which consists of 8. The highest IVI value was 35.613 % on the type of
Calanthe sp. and the lowest of 4.772 % on the type of Bulbophyllum sp. Diversity
index H ' of 2.0. The most dominant genus of orchids is the type of the genus
Calanthe Calanthe sp. with total 69 individuals and the type of the genus Phaius
Phaius sp. 64 individuals.
