JOHANSYAH : Utilization of Coconut Shell Waste Liquid Smoke as an Alternative Latex Coagulant supervised by AINUN ROHANAH and SAIPUL BAHRI DAULAY. Liquid smoke is a product of condensation of directly or indirectly burning of materials that mostly contains lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose and other carbon compound. Liquid smoke contains phenol and acid which can be used as latex coagulant. This research was aim at testing coconut shell waste liquid smoke as an alternative of latex coagulant. The non factorial completely randomized design was used with the parameters : latex coagulation time, and ash content. The results showed that different concentration of liquid smoke had highly significant effect on latex coagulation time, had no significant effect on ash content. The results showed that the liquid smoke can be used as latex coagulant for Standart Indonesian Rubber (SIR) 20.
