dc.description.abstractThis research is motivated by employee problem as human resource in company. Employees are an important asset to the company, and employee performance is the main thing that the company should pay attention to. The success of an organization is closely linked to the individual performance of its employees. Every company is always trying to improve employee performance in hopes of achieving company goals. Many factors that affect employee performance are individual characteristics and work environment. Individual characteristics are different in each individual who contribute different performance also to the company. Conducive working environment is very advanced comfort, better employee work design, thus the performance of employees to be better. The purpose of this study is to know and analyze the contribution of individual characteristics to employee performance, work environment to employee performance, and the influence of individual characteristics and work environment on employee performance PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV Medan. This research is done by quantitative method with associative approach. Popolation in this study amounted to 308 people with a total sample of 75 people. Data analysis method used is hypothesis test, instrument test, classical assumption test, multiple regression test, and coefficient determination test. The results showed that the variable of individual characteristics partially, showed tcount (14,258) with sig. 0.000 means the variable of individual characteristics have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Work environment variable t hitung (10,724) with sig. 0.000 means the work environment has a positive and significant impact on employee performance. Anovais coefficient of determination seen from R square value equal to 0,600 (60%) which means job satisfaction can be influenced by individual characteristic and work environment, while the rest equal to 40% influenced by other variable not included in this research.en_US
