| dc.description.abstract | YOSSICA TEISSA : Estimate of Carbon Stocks (Above Ground Biomass) on
greenery open space (GOS) in the city of Medan. Under Supervision of
RAHMAWATY and ABDUL RAUF.
As an element of greenery open space, urban forests and city parks is
expected to address the problem in an urban environment, mainly to reduce noise
and lower greenhouse gases. To find out how much the role of green open space
(RTH) to absorb carbon in the urban study concerning estimation of carbon
stocks in the greenery space in the city of Medan. The research was conducted in
the area of green space Medan, that is Teladan City Park, Lapangan Merdeka
City Park, Bumi Perkemahan Pramuka Cadika Urbant Forest in May-December
2013 using purposive sampling method, census, non-destructive, and overlay.
The parameters analyzed were the diameter, height, total biomass (tons / ha), and
Carbon stored (Ton / Ha).
The results showed the highest value of carbon stocks 92,14817 tons / ha
located on City Park Lapangan Merdeka with Yellow Bamboo (Bambusa vulgaris)
be the greatest vegetation carbon stocks is 65,13422 Ton/Ha. Vegetation types of
trees to stocks carbon is the most Rambai Hutan (Baccaurea angulata Merr) is of
the carbon stocked 10,79006 Ton / Ha and type of vegetation instead of trees to
stocks carbon is the most widely Yellow Bamboo (Bambusa vulgaris) with a value
of 65,13422 Ton/Ha of carbon stocks. | en_US |
