Around Forest (Case Study: Sihombu Village, Tarabintang District, Humbang
Hasundutan Regency). Under the supervision of IRAWATI AZHAR, S. Hut., M. Si
and RISWAN S. Hut.
Bamboo plants has a high potential and bamboo cultivation is very easy.
However, unfortunately the high potential is not utilized optimally. This researh
are purpose to determine the potency and types of bamboo and the utilized of
bamboo in Sihombu Village, Tarabintang District, Humbang Hasundutan
Regency. The research was performed in April-June 2013 with survey methods,
inventaritation and bamboo community interviewed. The data were analyzed
descriptively and tabulation.
Based on research in the field, the species of bamboo that were found in
Sihombu Village there are 8 species. Bamboo species that has the highest
abundance of the species present in Schizostachyum brachycladium Kurz. by
75,84% and the least is Bambusa multiplex Lour. with the value 5,07%. Based on
analysis of vegetation diversity indices were also obtained 1,61. People of
Sihombu village use bamboo as a food (bamboo sprout), tampi, tepas, drainage,
