Percut Khalipah district of Deli Serdang). This study discusses how the construction
workers in the Village Environment XII Bandar Khalipah develop social capital to ensure the
continuity of their work as a construction worker.
This study aims to determine the potential of social capital or attitude and cooperative
relations that exist in the construction workers trade and what efforts were made to develop to
be even better than the previous one to ensure the continuity of their work as a construction
workers. To achieve these goals this paper uses social capital theory put forward by
sociologists Coleman, Fukuyama, Putnam, Hasbullah and star anise. This study uses a
qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in-depth interviews, observation
and documentation of participation.
The description and interpretation of the data is a depiction or narrative in sentences
explaining that social capital potential contained in the construction workers in the Village
Environment 12 Bandar Khalipah form of negotiation, information networks and
relationships, beliefs, values and norms, a high work ethic and mutual cooperation. Their
efforts to develop the fixed communicate well, please help, maintain trust and honesty,
mutual understanding and always worked with good results. The construction workers also
agreed that the potential of social capital at their disposal to ensure the continuity of their
