Analisis Strengths Weaknesses Oportunities Threats untuk Pengembangan Strategi Bisnis Usaha Rumah Kost (Studi Kasus Pada Usaha Rumah Kost Daerah Kelurahan Padang Bulan, Kecamatan Medan Baru, Medan)

Abstract

Business activities is one of the common activities, including boarding houses or Indekost. C-class boarding houses are found in Padang Bulan villages around of North Sumatra University (USU). Good management of the business creates a business that had fairly high profitability, for it is necessary to the development of business strategy. To determine and develop the strategy, needed SWOT Analysis. The problem in this research is how the condition of the internal and external environmental factors of the C-class boarding house, and what appropriate strategies to increase revenue. This study aims to determine the condition of the internal and external environmental factors of C-class boarding house, and determine appropriate strategies to increase revenue. The theory used in this study is the Services, Strategic Concept, and SWOT analysis. Forms of research used in this study was descriptive using qualitative data analysis. Methods of data collection by observation, interviews, documentary studies, and triangulation. Analysis using EFAS and IFAS matrix method, incorporation of EFAS + IFAS matrix, quadrant SWOT and SWOT matrix. The results show that the current internal capabilities C-class boarding house Medan Padang Bulan village is not enough for large market opportunities, so it is necessary to upgrades the internal capabilities. And strategies that must be implemented by the C-class boarding house is a Turn-Around strategy, namely improving his weaknesses to address large market opportunities.
