DEDY LESMANA : The Analysis of Financial Comparison Monoculture
Community Forest Enterprises with Polyculture Community Worest Enterprises
(Case Studies in The Village Jaharun, District Galang, Deli Serdang Regency)

Community forest is a forest growing on land owned by the minimum area
of 0.25 hectares with a canopy closure dominated by timber plants (more than
50 %) or crop the first year at least 500 stems. Community forest development
opportunities are very large in the supply of timber and non-timber. This study
aims to analyze and compare the financial feasibility of the monoculture
community forest enterprises with Hevea brasiliensis and polyculture community
forest enterprises with Aquilaria malaccensis as major crops in the Village
Jaharun District Galang Deli Serdang regency. The analytical method used is
descriptive analysis, financial analysis criteria NPV (Net Present Value), BCR
(Benefit Cost Ratio), and IRR (Internal Rate of Returns) as well as sensitivity
analysis with two variables that change by raising the entire cost (cost) of 5% and
lower profits (benefits) of 5%.
The results of this research show that the monoculture community forest
enterprises with with Hevea brasiliensis and polyculture community forest
enterprises with aquilaria malaccensis as major crops financially viable, but the
business polyculture community forest enterprises with aquilaria malaccensis as
major crops more profitable financially when compared to the monoculture
community forest enterprises with with Hevea brasiliensis. Greatest NPV
contained in the polyculture community forest enterprises in the amount of
Rp. 395.874.996,631 while the monoculture community forest enterprises is
Rp. 142.137.072,308. BCR value on the monoculture community forest enterprises
that is equal to 2,82 while the value of BCR on polyculture community forest
enterprises that is equal to 3,91. IRR on the polyculture community forest
enterprises by 34,2% while the value of IRR on the monoculture community forest
enterprises that is equal to 48,1%.
