| dc.description.abstract | Volume prediction models was one of many supplemt tools on forest management planning. To support the integrity of sustainable planning and optimation of forest product, therefore applied quantitative planning technique is needed. The object of this research was Acacia mangium, a commercial species of leguminosae.
The costructed volume tables are aimed as useful aids for the estitamtion of stem volume up to total heigh and wood volume up to diameter limit of 5 cm of forest stand of Acacia mangium at HPHTI PT Sumatera Sylva Lestari, Pasir Pengarayan throught volume estimation by mean of sample tree.
On plot 50 X 50 m, data were collected from 60 sample trees of cach aged (3,5,6,7 and 8 years old) with distribution of diameter class from 55 to 30 cm, total height from 6 to 28 m. The average of stem faktor of Acacia mangium was 0,6.
The regression equations were use for the estimation of volume were

h., and the formula has R square of I, Agrefative deviation
(SA) of 0,05 and mean seviation of 0.05.
Volume table only valid for Acacia mangium in everlasting HPHTI PT
