dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study was: 1). Describing the history of the military establishment and institutions, 2). Describing the military involvement in Indonesian politics, 3). Analyzing the early history of military involvement in Indonesian politics. This study is a descriptive qualitative research, purpose of the study was to determine how the early history of military involvement in Indonesian politics. The results showed 1). political role of the army and the format is actualized through the effort to uphold and defend the independence 2). Since the guided democracy begun the military has entered into Indonesian politics. 3). Military power becomes greater after “supersemar” and reached its peak during the “orde baru” regim.en_US
