dc.description.abstract | Restoring energt needs to be paid attenlion because /atigue occurs during the
working process. One of the factors which can restore energy is taking a rest. An
worker with iuzavy work loacl has dillerett period and frequency of rest with a worker
who has light work load. The objective of the research was to find out the length of
rest bcsed on work load in each working unit such as sorti g. boiling, ciearing,
pressing, and purifying. The observation was otu the diference in work ioaC, based
on pulse and oxygen consumption.
The result o1 the calculation on pulse and cardiovcscular load (0% CfL)
showed that workers in the sorting unit had higher work load than those who worl:ed
in other units at the work load pulse of 100.67 pulses/minute (100.67 > 100
pulses/minuie) and 094 CVL was 30.12% (30.12 > 30%o) which indicated that over
work load could cause fatigue. Therefore, improvement was needed to solve this
problem.
Determining break time, based oit work load, is by physiological approach
which slates that break time in each worh unit now is sfficient so that additiona!
break time in the work system is not needed any more (fu : 0).
The result of the reseoi'ch showed that workers in the sorting unit hod over
work load which causedfatigue. It is recommen, led that improvement should be made
by d.widing work elements, and then each work element should be divided. Job
rototion is for six workers in order to reduce the workers' work load and their fatigue
so that work eflectiveness can be maintained | en_US |
