| dc.description.abstract | This research try to describe political recruitment process by Nasdem Party in
decision mechanism of legislative candidates at legislative election in North
Sumatera 2014. Nasdem party is a new party who never do the political recruitment
against to legislative candidates at the past time. Nasdem also haven’t a strong figure
yet, its institutional system haven’t put to a test yet, and even never participate in
legislative election before. However at the other side this party is leaded by one
figure who doesn’t strange in politic activity at North Sumatera, which also was a
cadre from other party. This thing make Nasdem party attractive to be an object to be
researched about recruitment of legislative candidates process at legislative election
in North Sumatera 2014.
This research is also to find out the reason or base judgement of Nasdem party
in decide legislative candidates that is carried at legislative election in North
Sumatera 2014. The approached that was used is descriptive qualitative with Nasdem
party as a case study in this research. Data was collected with the method of
documentation, interviews and field observations. Recruitment observed in this study
operationalization by using such indicators; certification process (who is eligible),
nomination process (who nominates), and election process (who is nominated).
This study successfully indicate that to be chosed become a legislative
candidates from Nasdem party, there are certification process that must be fulfilled
with some certainty. That certainty are based on the electoral law, internal regulation,
and some other base judgement. The base judgement of Nasdem party are candidates
must have some criteria which is, have a productive age, highschool minimal
education, have popularity, good behavior in society, and also party loyalty and
