| dc.description.abstract | Acute infection in respiratory system is a desease which attacks the system of
respiration, it usually found in infants. The data on infantile polyclinic of Rumah
Sakit Ibu dan Anak (RSIA) form Januari until July 2008 stated that there were 47
cases of Acute Respiratory Infections in childhood.
This research a survey with explanatory research approach system. It is
purpose is to analysed the impact of mother's and infant's characteristics, and
mother's behaviour to the Acute Respiratory Infections of RSIA Hospital Banda
Aceh, the Provinsi of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.
The population in this resarch were all infants who were being treated in the
infantile polyclinic of RSIA Hospital of Banda Aceh Provinsi NAD and 120 infants
of them to be sample with their inclusion criteria of age 12-60 months, who resident
in Banda Aceh, and had been treated in RSIA Banda Aceh more than once since
September 2008 to November 2008 or for three months. The data were analyzed
through multiple logistic regression test at the level of confidence of 95 %.
The result of this research shows that 32,5% of the infants who were treated
in polyclinic of RSIA Provinsi NAD were suffers from Acute Respiratory Infections.
The variable of work status (p=0,008:OR=3,556), the nutritional status
(p=0,02l;OR=2,550), dan immunization status (p=0,005:OR=0,330), dan mother's
practice (p=0,041:OR=2,256) have the significant influence to Acute Respiratory of
Infections in infantile.
It is suggested to Banda Aceh Health District to evaluation Acute Respiratory
of Infection policy, to increase of health promotion, nutrition programe, imunization
programe in hospital. Increase cooperation and coordination among RSIA Hospital
with puskesmas and Health District in Banda Aceh in Acute Respiratory of Infection
