dc.description.abstract | Based on observations conducted by researchers, there are so many cases of
child rights violations that often occur in people's lives. The forms of rights violations
that often occur in Indonesia in the form, working children, abandoned children, child
victims of sexual abuse, sale of children and child exploitation. Many causes of
violations of children's rights in Indonesia, but directly or indirectly, the reason for the
weak domestic economy is often the reason behind the abandonment of children's
rights. Weak domestic economy makes many housewives to work to provide for the
family. This study was conducted to examine the relationship between economic
activity and the fulfillment of child rights.
This research was conducted in the village of Belang malum Sidikalang
District of Dairi. The population in this study were 466 heads of household.
Researchers determined that 47 samples, a housewife who has or does not have
another job besides being a housewife. To gather data, researchers used data collection
techniques field study, questionnaires, interviews, observation and literature study.
Researchers collected data that has been processed using Pearson Product Moment
analysis techniques, to see the correlation between the two variables.
Based on the analysis of the data obtained it can be concluded that the
correlation between economic activity and the fulfillment of child rights in the village
of Belang malum Sidikalang District of Dairi a weak correlation. It can be known after
the data analisan Pearson Product Moment correlation is 0.32. According to the
correlation coefficient, if the results count below 0.32 then the relationship is a weak
