Enactment of a quota of 30% woman representation in 2008 Political
Parties point 2, has provided an opportunity for women to participate in political
arena. During this time, the management of political parties dominated by men
due to political activities considered as a masculine activity. If the representation
of women is left entirely to men as policy makers, of course, will result in an
equitable conditions and a very small chance of men fight for the women interest
because men do not act like women concept. It should encourages women to get
involved in the membership of a political party that is able to involve themselves
in the next parliament.
30% woman representation in the management of turns cannot be
implemented properly by the DPC PDIP Medan. PDI-P as one of the big party in
Indonesia and woman as a leader of the party have only 3 seats out of 15 women
stewardship positions. If elected as party officials, lack of preparedness and
commitment of women cadres make the multiple roles of women caders, they do
not have enough time, the low level of political education and little experience in
politics resulted in low representation of women in the management of DPC PDIP
Medan. Then we need a strategy to increase the representation of women in
management such as increasing political education, increasing the political
recruitment, optimizing the role of party branch organization, develop the party
system to be more democratic and do economic empowerment.
