    Abstract
    This study describes and analyzes on the subject of divorce and fulfillment of children’s rights by taking research location in the Village Sei Semayang Sub- Districts Sunggal Deli Serdang District. This research background started from the many parents who do divorce for various reasons. Divorce that occurred between the parents led to many children who are victims of divorce of parents where parents after a divorce are not a few who ignore the responsibillity in the fulfillment of children’s rights. Problems faced by children in these situations encourage children to seek comfort and security outside the family. Social problems arising out if this problem is a result of a malfunction of the family for children and cause children experiencing either psychological or social changes. Children as victims of parental divorce requires special attention on the environment, especially the family as nearby neighborhoods. This study uses several theories including the theory of the family, the family system, and need. As for the research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with descriptive analysis approach. In the collection of the data obtained trhough interviews collection techniques. This study has shown that the first, the causes of divorce is lack of communication, different opinions, unfaithful, married without love, married young, imbalance or inequality in social status, and the presence of violence in the household. Second, children’s rights, namely the right to build a decent life, the right to development, the right to be loved, the right to identity, the right to worship, the right to receive care, and the right to receive the protection of both parents. Third, the effects of divorce truma, insecure, feel exploited, felt abandoned and is not considered, and the loss of children’s rights.
