dc.description.abstract | This thesis entitled "Perceptions of Single Parents To Divorce (Case Study in
Hamlet III B Patumbak District of Deli Serdang). This thesis consists of six chapters with
146 pages. The problem discussed here is how the perception of single parents to divorce
in Hamlet III B Patumbak District of Deli Serdang. The purpose of this study was to
determine the perception of single parents to divorce in Hamlet III B Patumbak District
of Deli Serdang.
This type of research is descriptive qualitative study aims to describe or describe
objects and phenomenon. Meanwhile, data collection techniques using primary data, indepth
interviews, direct observation and secondary data field, the study of literature. This
study was conducted to fifteen informants, consisting of key informants, the main and
additional sampling method using total sampling or sampling techniques together with
the population.
The results showed that the perception of single parents to divorce in Hamlet III B
Patumbak District of Deli Serdang have a positive perception in terms of knowledge
about housekeeping. Perceptions about the single parent household is an organization in
the community that was built through a matrimony in a pair. Have the perception of
positive and negative is balanced in terms of the effects of divorce for children and
parents is the occurrence of psychological disorders in children as more likely to be
alone, feel guilty and think of themselves as the cause of the problem, the disturbance
from outside ourselves (from friends or the environment) , has its own mental burden. For
parents, afraid their children who decided to divorce will suffer, can not meet their needs.
Dominant negative perception of socio-economic and health terms, after a divorce in
general, many decline until conditions improve living standards in order to meet their
needs that has the status of single parents or single parent and children for the welfare of
