dc.description.abstract | At this time, there are still many people, especially among children who like
abusing drugs. It certainly could harm them as terserangnya HIV virus and it more
vulnerable to disease. Various methods are used in order to consume these types of
drugs. One of them with committing a crime if it cost nothing to get it. This can be
prevented by fortifying public awareness in children to prevent themselves familiar
with the world of drugs. Many institutions or foundations already established
cooperation with the Government in fostering children, especially ever abusing drugs
to be restored and to prevent them from abusing drugs back. Foundation Caritas
Shelter Awareness Campaign by organizing a program in cooperation with the
Institute for Development of Special Children Class 1 Tanjung Gusta Medan to
foster children for prisoners to improve the quality of life of those who have
problems with drug abuse.
This research was conducted at the Institute for Development of Special
Children Class 1 Tanjung Gusta Medan. This research used descriptive research that
study or describe objects and phenomenon. To obtain the necessary data, researchers
used data collection techniques literature study and field study consisted of
questionnaires and interviews. In analyzing the data, researchers used a descriptive
analysis method with quantitative approach.
Based on analysis of data obtained, it can be concluded that target children
Special Children's Agency is Class 1 Tanjung Gusta Medan had a positive response
to the Campaign Awareness Program, in the form of outreach activities, guidance
and care and ARV treatment, opportunistic infections, STIs and TB. Response target
children can be seen from the perception, attitude and participation in the program.
Program Awareness Campaign target children is very helpful to improve the quality
of life of those who have problems with drug abuse and HIV-AIDS, which is
expected to improve their health status. | en_US |
