| dc.description.abstract | This research entitled The RoleOfMass Media AboutCommunityPolitical Knowledge (Study Case: The Role of Daily New TapanuliAbout Political KnowledgeOf Pandan DistrictOf Central TapanuliCommunity TowardsThe Selection of RegentIn 2017) aims to determine the intensity of community in reading Daily New Tapanuli, to understand the information conveyed by Daily New Tapanuli and how Daily New Tapanuli plays role in people of Pandan District political knowledge, Central Tapanuli Regency, such as pertaining to the Election of Regional Head (Regent) of Central Tapanuli district, candidate of Regent / Deputy Regent of Central Tapanuli district, and political parties. The object of study in this research is the community of Pandan District, Central Tapanuli which consist of 22 villages /Kelurahan and Daily New Tapanuli. Method of the research in this study is using Quantitative Approach, by looking at the correlation between variable X and Y.Technique of analysis used is Analytical Frequency Tables, and the hypothesis will be examined with Product Moment Pearson correlation, and the amount of influence between variables by using determinate coefficient will be observed. The result of this study conveys that there is a strong correlation between reading Daily New Tapanuli and Political knowledge of Pandan District, central Tapanuli community. As for the value of Product Moment Correlation (r) is 0.732 and the value of determinate coefficient (r square) is 53,6%. It can be said that there is a substantial role of variable X (Mass Media) to variable Y (Political Knowledge) which equals to 53,6%. | en_US |
