dc.description.abstractWomen who worked as agricultural laborers aims to earn in order to improve the living standards of their families. The necessities of life are progressively increasing and prices increasing need surged, the inadequacy of the income of the husband in fulfil the needs of family life, as well as the problem of lack of knowledge and skills to make the housewives in the Beganding Village finally decided to work as agricultural laborers (aron), where wages they can get relatively small. Such a situation requires them to look for alternatives, strategies, as well as perform various efforts so that they can increase family income and their family life needs can be fulfilled. This type of research is classified on a descriptive study with qualitative approach, which aims to illustrate the contribution of women laborers of agricultural (aron). This research was carried out in Beganding Village Simpang Empat Subdistrict Karo District. In this study, the method of data collection is the study of literature, direct observation research site, as well as conduct interviews with 10 woman laborers of agricultural, who are key informants of this research. The results showed that the contribution of woman laborers of agricultural (aron) in Beganding Village Simpang Empat Sub-district Karo District can be seen from: (1) Hours of work, where they do work that does not exceed the provisions of the working time (overtime), and manage the time so that the role of wife and housewife can be done well and balance. (2) Increase in financial assets, which they do the work other than as a laborer for the sake of the family income. (3) The financial management of the family, where woman laborers of agricultural (aron) manage their family finances in such a way to buy the needs of the family, to be stored or saved either in financial institutions such as Bank or Credit Union or savings to the following jula-jula activities done by a group of housewives in the village Beganding. (4) Utilization of the haouse yard, where they plant their house yard with plants that could be sold to increase the family income, or for their own consumption to press costs. (5) Social alternative search, which is seeking financial aid or a loan of money, both in financial institutions such as Bank or Credit Union as well as the family and relatives. Based on the results of research and data analysis can be concluded that the woman laborers of agricultural (aron) in Beganding Village give a good and major contribution in social and economic life of the family. It can be seen from the efforts they do to increase revenue in order to fulfill the necessities of life and improve the living standards of their families.en_US
